Spacecraft Power Electronics Products for over 30 Years

Spacecraft electronics of all types require a reliable and efficient power system, whether embedded, modular, or standalone. Without power, no mission is possible.

Beyond Gravity has been a leader in the development and manufacturing of advanced spacecraft power electronics products for over 30 years.

Beyond Gravity is also active in the New Space segment, delivering high-quality Power Distribution Units (PDUs) to commercial customers. Our expertise in Power Conditioning and Distribution Units (PCDU) design is recognized industry-wide, and we have played a critical role in several high-profile missions.

Beyond Gravity's PCDU design expertise was utilized in ESA's ADM-Aeolus mission and the management of the Electrical Power Subsystem for the Solar Orbiter. We have also designed and developed PDUs for numerous other missions, including Venus Express, Mars Express, Rosetta (both subsystem and payload units), Swarm, Cryosat 1, and Cryosat 2.

Today Beyond Gravity’s Power Conditioning and Distributions are the most dependable in their segments, offering competitive prices and excellent performance. We are committed to providing our customers with the best possible products and services.

Constellation Power Conditioning and Distribution Unit (cPCDU)

Beyond Gravity is a leader in the design and manufacturing of innovative and reliable PCDUs for New Space applications. Our PCDUs are based on commercial components, but they retain the high reliability standards that Beyond Gravity is known for.

The Constellation Power Conditioning and Distribution Unit (cPCDU) is an essential component of the Electrical Power Subsystems (EPS) of spacecraft constellations. Beyond Gravity's cPCDUs seamlessly interface with solar arrays and batteries, offering a range of control principles, such as S3R and MPPT, for optimal power management.

The Beyond Gravity cPCDU can provide both regulated and unregulated power buses, catering to the diverse power requirements of spacecraft constellations. The Power Distribution function is equipped to provide Latching and Foldback Current Limiter (LCL/FCL) outputs, heater outputs, and deployment and release (pyro) outputs.

Designed for reliability and efficiency, the Beyond Gravity cPCDU solution employs internal redundancy to ensure high performance even in the most challenging space conditions. The Beyond Gravity cPCDU also supports autonomous missions, making it the trusted partner for efficient and reliable power management in spacecraft constellations.

The cPCDU supports CAN and RS-485 command interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with your existing systems. The cPCDU is built using Beyond Gravity's automotive-grade, TID and Heavy ION tested, EEE component library. Radiation-hardened components are incorporated in critical functions when necessary based on Beyond Gravity's comprehensive analyses.

Constellation Power Distribution Unit (cPDU)

Beyond Gravity's Constellation Power Distribution Unit (cPDU) is a cost-effective and reliable solution for distributing primary power to payloads and heaters in spacecraft constellations. The cPDU leverages the benefits of distributed payload solutions, offering SPF-free protection of the primary power bus and LCL protection of primary and secondary powers with configurable LCL limits.

The cPDU supports CAN and RS-485 command interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with your existing systems. The cPDU is built using Beyond Gravity's automotive-grade, TID and Heavy ION tested, EEE component library. Radiation-hardened components are incorporated in critical functions when necessary based on Beyond Gravity's comprehensive analyses.
